VetCE on Demand: When Quality of Life Scales Aren’t Enough; Counseling Clients Who Won’t Let Go utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name. Choosing to end the life of a beloved and loyal companion is a responsibility that many people are unable to bear. This makes it particularly challenging to navigate conversations surrounding decision making for euthanasia. Dr. Cooney, an animal hospice veterinarian, outline ways to handle these difficult discussions, demonstrating leading with compassion and empathy, while still advocating for patients to prevent unnecessary suffering. It shares utilizing some leading questions and supportive statements to create an open and honest dialogue, to allow these clients to say goodbye without fear and regret but with grace and dignity. Completion Requirements
The completion requirements for this course are: complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better - multiple attempts are permitted submit the course survey Upon submission of the final completion requirement, the participant will automatically be marked as completed and the course completion email will be sent out. The participant will have immediate access to the certificate.
