Course Focus and Learning Objectives

Although most pet parents will search online for nutrition information following a cancer diagnosis, they still trust their veterinary healthcare team’s advice and want your guidance. A team approach that emphasizes the individual patient is the key to delivering a successful dietary recommendation. This course includes practical tips for communicating with pet parents and establishing a nutritional protocol within your practice to help support the cancer patient's quality of life.


After completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  • explain the importance of communication about nutrition to pet parents with pets that have cancer
  • outline how to discuss the nutritional recommendation
  • explain the importance of feeding a complete and balanced diet for dogs or cats with cancer

Participants have 30 days to complete this course, if the course is not completed in 30 days, the participant will be marked incomplete

Participants who are unable to complete a course may re-enroll at their convenience providing the course is still available.

 

Completion Requirements

The completion requirements for this course are:

  • complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better - multiple attempts are permitted
  • submit the course survey

Upon submission of the final completion requirement, the participant will automatically be marked as completed and the course completion email will be sent out. The participant will have immediate access to the certificate.
