Course Focus and Learning Objectives

This article will discuss the nutritional management of food sensitivities in dogs and cats. Challenges relating to the accurate diagnosis of food allergies will be discussed. The nutritional management of food sensitivities and the dietary strategies available for the veterinary care team and owners will be discussed in detail.


After completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  • review diagnostic methods for dogs and cats with suspected food allergies
  • discuss common difficulties and mistakes during elimination diet trials
  • review nutritional management of food allergies and sensitivities in dogs and cats

Completion Requirements

The completion requirements for this course are:

  • complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better - multiple attempts are permitted
  • submit the course survey

Upon submission of the final completion requirement, the participant will automatically be marked as completed and the course completion email will be sent out. The participant will have immediate access to the certificate.
