VetCE on Demand: Surgical Conditions of the Equine Foot utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name.
At times, medical conditions and trauma of the equine hoof requires surgery to fully address. Knowing when and how to approach can greatly benefit both horse and owner. This course reviews a variety of surgical conditions of the equine foot. Topics cover trauma to the hoof, septic pedal osteitis, keratoma, canker, quittor, bone cysts, and fractures. Typical presentation, diagnosis, treatment options, surgical techniques, and prognosis is discussed for each condition.
At the end of the course participants should be able to:
