Course Focus and Learning Objectives

VetCE on Demand: Taking the Mystery Out of the Diagnosis and Treatment of Soft Tissue Orthopedic Injuries in Dogs utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name.

Soft tissue orthopedic injuries in dogs are challenging to diagnose and treat effectively. This course takes the mystery out of some of the most common muscle and tendon injuries seen in dogs. It provides practitioners and technicians with information to assist them in identifying these complicated cases. The diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare of calcanean tendon rupture, biceps tenosynovitis, supraspinatus tendon injuries, iliopsoas muscle injuries, and more are discussed.

Upon completion of this course the participant should be able to:

  • discuss the pathophysiology of common soft tissue orthopedic injuries
  • outline the clinical and physical exam findings observed in patients with soft tissue orthopedic injuries
  • discuss how to formulate a treatment plan for patients with the most common soft tissue orthopedic injuries identified
