Course Focus and Learning Objectives
VetCE on Demand: Updates on Common Toxicology Topics utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name. This course offers guidance on current topics in toxicology, including a focus on advances in understanding grape and raisin toxicosis in dogs, the emergency of different mushroom types in “magic mushroom” products, decontamination considerations with activated charcoal and chocolate, and considerations with fluid diuresis recommendations and intravenous lipid therapies. Up to date information about these topics will be discussed and treatment of toxin ingestions will be reviewed. Upon completion of this course the participant should be able to: outline the toxic principles of grapes and a rational approach to treatment list the different types of “magic mushroom” products and differences in approaches to management discuss the use of activated charcoal for decontamination with chocolate exposures outline the use of fluid therapy and intralipid therapies as they apply to toxicity cases

The completion requirements for this course are: complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better - multiple attempts are permitted submit the course survey Upon submission of the final completion requirement, the participant will automatically be marked as completed and the course completion email will be sent out. The participant will have immediate access to the certificate.
